The Punjab Murderous Outrages Act, 1867, was a piece of legislation enacted during British colonial rule in Pakistan. It was introduced in response to a series of violent and politically motivated acts in the Punjab Region, particularly the Sikh and Hindu religious violence, including acts of terrorism and assassinations. It is historical background of this Law. The Act was designed to address and suppress these violent activities and to maintain law and order in the Punjab.
